Renaissance Sweet 16 Idea

in Ideas and Themes

Most teens are familiar with “Ren Faires” and the Renaissance. This truly is a unique sweet sixteen party theme. This is not a budget friendly theme unless you plan to host at a themed restaurant.

Venue

To pull this theme off you will need to either host it at the proper themed restaurant such as “The Medieval Times” in or plan on spending quite a bit on decor, entertainment, food and attire.

If this sounds too much for you to take on, consider hiring an event planner than specializes in Renaissance themed events such as “A Renaissance Fair Just For YOU“.

August- October Sweet Sixteen Parties

Check your area for when the Renaissance Fair is going to be held and reserve your party there. There are venues that will host your event and throw you a spectacular party such as Mount Hope Estate and Winery.

Food

Food from the Renaissance is sure to be the talk of the party. Your guests are in for a real treat. Many of your guests may not have ever attended a renaissance festival or “The Medieval Times” and most likely have never experienced the feasts that accompany this time period. They will be blown over by the food that you may have to roll them out of the party by the end of the night. :) You can easily find a caterer that are masters of the rennaissance Party theme.

Attire

You can either rent or buy your costume. I would recommend renting since it will save on costs. Make sure the birthday girl or boy gets their princess or prince crown too.

Entertainment

If you’re not going to have the room for jousting events and the like, then you will want to hire entertainers that can perform Knight fights Also hire a king, a queen, minstrels, mimes and jesters, dancers and music. Make sure that the entertainers are engaging and not just “cheesy”. Preview their acting skills at your appointments.

There are some games you can play with this theme. Have a tug-o-war battle or bob for apples.

Decor

If you happen to be hosting this theme in your home then an event planner can really help you with planning the appropriate decor and getting the proper rentals to pull it all together. You can paint backdrops to mimic castle walls and then buy some fabric in rich colors to drape around the room as well.
