It’s easy to do and can be cost effective. You can purchase blank DVDs from your favorite office supply or computer store in bulk without jewel cases to cut cost. Purchase some blank DVD labels to print on your PC. You will also need to purchase CD label creator software. (Some kits will include blank labels with the label making software.) Your computer should already have a program that allows you to create CDs but if not a good program is Roxio CD Creator
.
Make your Video
Record your video with a digital camera. If you don’t have one, you will want to get one now. It not only serves for making this video but you will have it to take photos of the big day and build memories to last a lifetime.

Some tips for recording your video is to make sure you are in a well lit area. Some ideal places are outside or standing with the videographer’s back to a window and the birthday girl facing the window so the natural light hits the birthday girl. Watch for too many much shadow on the face.
Display the theme to your guests
Either dress up with some small gestures to introduce the theme to your guests. It it’s an 80′s theme you will want to play 80′s music in the background and maybe dress up in some 80′s gear (not the outfit planned for the party). Just something to give them the basic idea. Don’t wear your outfit that you plan on the big day. Save your guests an element of surprise.
Make a Label
Create a label that has some aspect of your theme on it and briefly explains that it is an invitation for your Sweet 16 Birthday Party and place your RVSP information on it.
Edit the video
After recording your video you are ready to edit it. Microsoft’s Movie Maker is an easy program that comes already loaded on your PC if you are running Windows on your system.
Movie Maker really is an easy drag and drop software program. You can slice out parts of the video you don’t want and you can add music to your video as well.
Your teen may already know how to do this part of it since many teens make music videos and upload them on Youtube. He/she may surprise you with their computer skills.
